Nangyar Koothu

Nangyar Koothu 

  It is a version of Kotiyattam.This art is performed by women Ambalavasi Nambiar community in kerala. Traditionaly they are  known as Nangyaramma. For this performance  the story is taken from Krishna Charitham.Throughout this, the performer describe story of life of Load Krishna through facial expressions, hand gestures and body movements. Kalamandalam has an important role for promotion of this art.  This art is performed in temple theatres called Koothambalam
